City Council Responsibilities

The Dublin City Council is responsible for enacting legislation, establishing policies, and providing guidance and direction for actions which affect the quality of life in the City.

Local elected officials also represent the City of Dublin at a variety of forums at the county, regional, state, and national levels in order to make certain that the interests of the City of Dublin and cities in general are promoted.

District Elections

Dublin voters participated in the first district-based election in November 2024, when City Councilmembers from Districts 1 and 3 were elected. Dublin voters in Districts 2 and 4 will participate in a district-based election in November 2026.  The Mayor's seat will also be up for election citywide. The City Council established a district-based elections system via Ordinance 10-22 on September 6, 2022. More information about the process can also be found  on the District Elections webpage.
