On April 2, 2024, the Dublin City Council adopted the FY 2024-26 Strategic Plan, outlining the City Council's shared mission, vision, and values for Dublin's future. The plan includes five key strategies and 25 objectives. Additionally, the City Manager identifies work plan items that align with the Plan's goals and objectives.

 As part of the Dublin's long-term strategic planning process, the City Council developed a list of strategy areas which would provide a focused framework for the City's allocation of resources over the next two years:

1. Economic Development, Small Business Support, and Downtown Dublin 
2. Public Safety
3. Housing Inclusivity and Affordability
4. Inclusive and Effective Government
5. Long-Term Infrastructure and Sustainability Investments

Historic Strategic Plans

The City Council develops a Strategic Plan every two years through workshops, discussions with staff, and resident input. Historically, the City Council would receive quarterly reports on accomplishments and work plan items. The City Council transitioned to receiving a biannual progress report in February 2025.
