Privately Owned Public Art Collection
The City of Dublin's privately-owned Public Art collection provides Dublin residents and visitors with an improved public environment and enhances facilities and spaces with quality works of art by professional artists.
The City of Dublin has a Public Art Ordinance that requires large developments to install Public Art onsite, pay an in-lieu fee, or a combination of the two.
The City of Dublin encourages developers or property owners to install Public Art as part of their development project. Because of this, there are many great pieces of privately owned Public Art that are on display across the City.
When the option to pay an in-lieu fee is elected by a developer, those fees are deposited into the Public Art Fund and are used for future City-owned Public Art projects, maintenance of Public Art, and other Public Art-related expenses.
Look for these amazing artworks next time you are out and about in Dublin.
