[ARCHIVED] Pick Up a Free Reusable Bag and a New Habit

Between January 22 and Frebruary 2, 2013, member agencies of the Alameda County Clean Water Program will be holding reusable bag giveaway events, in support of the countywide single-use plastic bag ban that went into effect on January 1. The ban prohibits stores that sell packaged food or alcohol from giving away single-use plastic bags at checkout, and requires them to charge a minimum of 10 cents per paper bag, in the hopes that shoppers will bring their own reusable bags to the store. The reusable bag ordinance is intended to reduce litter, keep plastic bags out of local waterways, and encourage the use of reusable bags.

Pick up a free reusable bag at the City of Dublin hosted bag giveaway event on Tuesday, January 22, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm (while supplies last) in the lobby of the Dublin Library, located at 200 Civic Plaza.
