[ARCHIVED] Help Name Dublin's Next Park

The City of Dublin is seeking suggestions for the name of the next neighborhood park, which will constructed in the Schaeffer Ranch development. Residents have until Thursday, April 12, to participate in an online survey to suggest park names.

The 10.6-acre site will feature 6.3-acres of developed parkland with the following amenities:
- Open Meadow
- Playgrounds
- Basketball Court
- Tennis Court
- Horseshoe Pits
- Covered Picnic Area
- Game Tables
- Pathways
- Restroom Building

The park site is at a high point in the western hills of Dublin with spectacular views of the Tri-Valley to the east and the rolling hills of the ridge line to the south. The site is bordered by Dublin Boulevard to the south, Schaeffer Heights Road to the west, and Kelly Canyon Drive to the north.

The following general guidelines may be helpful in determining suggested names for the park. Parks are typically named using the following criteria:
- Neighborhood or geographical identification (development, major street or regional area of the City.
- A prominent form of topography, natural geological features, or a prominent plant, bush or tree.
- An outstanding or unique feature of the park
- Historical or cultural significance of the area.
- An individual or family that has provided significant, long-term contributions to the advancement of Dublin and the quality of life, demonstrating service and commitment to the community.
