Dublin Police Services invites students ages 14-18 to apply to be a part of its annual week-long Youth Academy, taking place July 22-26, 2019. This free program is designed for students who have an interest in criminal justice. Applications are now available for pick-up at Dublin Police Services (100 Civic Plaza, Dublin).
Taught by law enforcement personnel, the Youth Academy offers participants the opportunity to learn about specific elements of the law enforcement profession, including:
- Backgrounds and Recruiting
- Bomb Squad Unit
- Crime Prevention / Community Policing
- Crime Scene Investigations
- Gang Identification and Prevention
Participants also tour local law enforcement agency stations and participate in interactive and physical training exercises.
The deadline to apply is Friday, June 21, at 5:00 p.m.
Students will be required to pass a background check and must have parental consent.
