The City of Dublin will unveil its newest piece of public art, "Thank You, Water" in a short ceremony this Thursday, August 23 at 6 p.m. at the Farmers' Market at Emerald Glen Park, 4201 Central Parkway.
The multi-piece bronze sculpture by Todji Kurtzman was commissioned specially for The Wave and has been several years in the making. It features the Spirit of Alamilla Spring casting a stone across time. Smaller splashes represent different eras in Dublin's history with cymatic patterns created by vibrating the voices of local residents in water taken from Dublin's historic Alamilla Spring. The artist and the residents whose voices are depicted will be on hand for the unveiling.
