Dublin Camp Parks Military History Center hosts an open house on Sunday, May 27, 1:00-5:00 p.m. to honor women who have served our country. Celebrate with camaraderie, refreshments and lively music of the 1940s and 1950s. Admission is free.
A highlight of the afternoon will be a panel discussion left by local historian Steve Minniear, featuring former Camp Parks Red Cross worker Beverly Ales; retired U.S. Navy Nurse Corps Lieutenant Commander Karen Born who served on a hospital ship in Vietnam; retired U.S. Navy Nurse Corps Captain Lorrie Newmark Sammons; and current military personnel. Other veteran nurses will be on hand to share photos and memories.
