After years of hearing from the community about the need to create a Downtown, the City is investing its resources and working to fulfill the Downtown Dublin Preferred Vision, which was unanimously approved by the Dublin City Council on November 5, 2019. The Downtown Dublin Preferred Vision provides a roadmap to improving the retail district of Downtown Dublin over the next 30-50 years and includes three main principles:
siting of the town square, an approximately one-acre park envisioned to become Dublin’s social center,
a new street grid network, and
the Downtown character.
The Preferred Vision for Downtown Dublin begins with creating the town square and extending Golden Gate Drive north of Dublin Blvd. within the Dublin Place shopping center (which includes Target, Hobby Lobby and Burlington Coat Factory). The City is actively working with the majority property owner of the Dublin Place shopping center and expects to develop the new town square within the next five years.

Note: The consultants helping the City in this process have considered different configurations of land uses and other economic factors to create the renderings to show one version of what is realistically possible over time. A vision is not a plan; it is a guide and future development won’t necessarily look exactly like renderings shown here.
