Manufacturing Day

Manufacturing Day pays tribute to the work that manufacturers do every day to create a safe and robust Bay Area.  Manufacturing is part of the bedrock of the Bay Area's economy - employing more than 300,000 persons in the region and supporting all the other industries that make the Bay Area the vibrant and diverse region it is: from technology to agriculture to art.

In past years, Dublin has partnered with the cities of Livermore and Pleasanton and educational institutions to host an in-person Tri-Valley Manufacturing (Mfg) Day event including tours of local facilities.  Manufacturing Day celebrates and raises awareness of our manufacturing businesses and the career opportunities available in the manufacturing industry.

The City of Dublin has partnered with other Tri-Valley cities in the creation of a Tri-Valley Manufacturing webpage to showcase all manufacturing businesses in the cities of Dublin, Livermore, and Pleasanton. The webpage will go live on October 7 in honor of MFG Day.

In addition, Dublin is showing our support and raising awareness about local manufacturing businesses on the City's official Twitter account during the month of October.

History

The national Manufacturing Day event (held each October) was created to tell the story about the importance of manufacturing in the United States economy.

Manufacturing is a driver of the East Bay economy, contributing 300,000+ jobs, and is an important segment of Dublin’s economy.

Tri-Valley Manufacturing Day is a regional collaborative effort between local educational institutions, participating manufacturing businesses, and the cities of Dublin, Livermore, and Pleasanton. Our goal is to celebrate modern manufacturing and inspire the next generation of manufacturers.
