Emergency Alerts

The City of Dublin's Emergency Alert System is designed to notify residents in the event of any emergency taking place in the City of Dublin, or in nearby communities.  The system will provide the following:  

  • A news flash will be sent, alerting residents about a state of emergency, and what actions should be taken.   To receive notifications, simply sign up to receive e-mails through the Alert Center.  
  • An Emergency Alert icon will be shown throughout the website during an emergency situation
Flashing RED or Solid Red Emergency Alert Light
When the "Emergency Alert" light is flashing red, or is a solid red, an emergency condition/road closure exists in the City.

GREEN Emergency Alert Light
When the "Emergency Alert" light is green, the state of emergency has passed.

AC Alert

Seconds Count: Stay Informed!

The City of Dublin has partnered with Alameda County on an emergency notification system, "AC Alert," powered by EverBridge.  It is an ultra-high-speed telephonic communication service used for emergency notifications. This system allows us to telephone some or all targeted areas of the City in case of an emergency situation that requires immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child, or evacuation notices).   Contact information for landlines within the community is provided to AC Alert through an agreement with AT&T; however, if you no longer have a landline phone at your home, you must register your mobile devices and e-mail addresses with AC Alert in order to receive notifications.  

The system is capable of dialing thousands of phone numbers per hour. It then delivers our recorded message to a live person or an answering machine, making several attempts to connect to any number. Examples of times when the AC Alert system could be utilized include:

    • Bomb threats
    • Chemical spills
    • Drinking water contamination 
    • Evacuation notices and routes
    • Fires or floods
    • Gas leaks
    • Hostage situations
    • Missing persons
    • Utility outages
    • Other emergency incidents where rapid and accurate notification is essential for protection of life

Note: This system will only be used for emergency purposes only.  Your private information will not be shared or sold to any other vendor or organization

Nixle Alerts

Dublin Police Services has partnered with Nixle, an emergency notification system, to alert residents during emergencies, road closures, or other health or safety issues.  Simply text "Dublin" or the City's zip code - 94568 - to 888777 to receive free emergency alerts on your cell phone. You may also visit www.nixle.com and sign up to receive alerts and advisories (such as road closures) via e-mail. After registering, residents will also receive alerts from nearby agencies, such as the Alameda County Fire Department, which also partners with Nixle.
