City of Dublin Launches New COVID-19 Rent Assistance Program

The City of Dublin has launched a new rent assistance program for lower-income households experiencing an unforeseen financial crisis and an inability to pay rent due to a loss of income related to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Funding for the program is provided by the CARES Act Round 3 through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.

The amount of assistance provided to Dublin renters is based on an actual need and provides up to $6,000 per household or a maximum of six months of rent, whichever is less. Funds may only be used for outstanding, unpaid rent due on a current lease. The form of assistance will be a grant payable directly to the landlord.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Dublin residents
  • Loss of job or income due to COVID-19
  • Household income at or below 120% Area Median Income
  • Lease is in the applicant's name
  • Be current on rental payments prior to March 17, 2020, and remain in otherwise good standing with the terms of the lease

Applications may be completed online at www.dublin.ca.gov/2269 or downloaded and submitted to the Community Development Department, Housing Division, at 100 Civic Plaza, Dublin, CA  94568.  Hard copies of the application are also available from the Housing Division at 100 Civic Plaza.
