All Households Are Encouraged to Respond to the 2020 Census

The U.S. Census Bureau began following up with households nationwide that have not yet responded to the 2020 Census. In Dublin, the current self-response rate is 74%, which means one in four Dublin households have not yet responded to the 2020 Census.  Up to 500,000 Census-takers across the country will go door to door to assist people in responding to the 2020 Census.  Dublin’s future is counting on everyone to responded to the Census.

If your household has not already responded to the 2020 Census, you can do so online, over the phone (844-330-2020), by mailing back the paper questionnaire, or talking with a Census-taker during an in-person visit.

  • It’s Quick and Easy - The 2020 Census takes just a few moments to complete.
  • It’s Safe and Secure - The U.S. Census Bureau keeps your answers safe and confidential.
  • It’s Not Too Late - You can still complete the Census today.

Complete the Census at Home Today:

You do not need to wait to talk to Census-taker, even if you do not have your household’s 12-digit Census ID number. You can complete the Census form online or over the phone in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Russian, Arabic, Tagalog, Polish, French, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, and Japanese.

What You Need to Know About A Visit From a Census-Taker:

Census-takers will visit households that have not yet responded. They will be wearing masks and practicing social distancing. Census-takers will not ask for financial information, your driver’s license, social security number, or solicit money or donations. Census-takers work both in the daytime and evening, including on the weekend.

A Complete 2020 Census Count is Important:

It is very important for Dublin’s future that everyone participates in the Census. Census data helps determine how billions of dollars in federal funds is allocated for schools, roads, and many other programs and services for families, older adults, and children.
