Storm Drainage

Public vs. Private Maintenance

The City of Dublin maintains storm drain pipes and inlets that are on public streets or that carry water which originates on a public street. Drainage facilities that are located on private property are maintained by private property owners. Private drainage facilities may include (but are not limited to) V-ditches or channels on residential or commercial property, and drain inlets in parking lots.

Governing Ordinance

The City's Watercourse Ordinance provides regulations related to construction and other activities around both natural creeks and man-made watercourses.

Cleaning, Flushing, Inspecting & Repairing

The City conducts annual drain inlet cleaning and storm drain flushing activities and inspects and repairs drain inlet grates for facilities within the public right-of-way.

County Partnership

Certain channels within the City have been dedicated to and are maintained by the Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, Zone 7, located in Livermore. You may contact the Zone 7 Water Agency at (925) 454-5000.
