Don Biddle Community Park
Project Completion: 2022
Total Estimated Project Cost: $24.8 million
Work has begun on the future Don Biddle Community Park. The new 30-acre community park will be centrally located in Dublin on a portion of the former Camp Parks Army Base property. The Land Use Development Plan provides reference to the location of the park and overall development of Dublin Crossing. Upon completion, the 30-acre community park will feature a wide variety of amenities, including both tennis and basketball courts, a playground, swing sets, a picnic/BBQ area, a community garden, veterans art, and much more. The park is named for former Dublin Vice Mayor Don Biddle, who passed away in 2018. He served the community in a multitude of public service capacities for over forty years.

Public Art - Don Biddle Community Park
Project Completion: 2022
Total Estimated Project Cost: $680,000 (Public Art Fund)
This public art project will be located at the Don Biddle Community Park that is being built as part of the Dublin Crossing development. This project will feature a plaza containing four statues, created by artist Steven Whyte. The artwork, entitled, Crossroads, features four larger-than-life bronze figures, representing veterans of different eras, branches of service, and demographics, standing at attention before four flags. The figures are an older male Caucasian Seebee from World War II, representative of tradesmen who left established careers to join the war effort and trained at the newly established Camp Parks; an African-American airman from the Korean War period, when Camp Parks was a U.S. Air Force facility; a Caucasian male Marine from the Vietnam era; and a modern-day Latina or Filipina reservist.
