Planning Process Expected Completion: Spring 2024
Total Estimated Project Cost: $6.7 million
A concept design for the future 8.85-acre park adjacent to the Wallis Ranch Community has been selected based on input from residents collected through an online survey, which garnered nearly 1,100 responses, along with community meetings held in March and April. That feedback was used to incorporate additional facilities, which assisted in the preparation of three conceptual design alternatives developed by Callendar Associates. The recreational facility will span three parcels of land along Rutherford Drive, bisected by Tassajara Creek.
On June 5, 2021, the City held an in-person community meeting at the future park location, where residents reviewed and provided input on the three proposed concepts.
On September 21, 2021, the Dublin City Council approved the proposed concept (pictured above) selected by the public at the community meeting in June.
The City of Dublin sought input from Dublin residents on the naming of the new community park located on three separate parcels between Tassajara Road and the Wallis Ranch residential neighborhood via a survey that was available through October 2, 2022. The popular name choices among the public were presented to the Parks and Community Services Commission on October 17 and approved by City Council on November 1. The park design theme selected is entitled, “Windswept Grassland,” and the park will be named Wallis Ranch Community Park. The park will include a plaza; playgrounds; picnic areas; grass fields for informal play; a dog park; basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts; a fitness circuit; and more.
The design is complete and the project will begin bidding in late-May 2023 with construction to begin in late-Summer 2023.
