Alameda County Urban County Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program
The Alameda County Urban County Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program ("EMAP") is intended to provide financial relief for lower income homeowners living in the Urban County jurisdictions who have experienced a loss of income resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The following Urban County jurisdictions qualify for "EMAP": Albany, Dublin, Emeryville, Newark, Piedmont, and the unincorporated parts of Alameda County: Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, and San Lorenzo. Housing and Economic Rights Advocates (HERA) is a California, non-profit legal service and advocacy organization, which offers information for homeowners who want to protect themselves from foreclosure rescue scams, and gives homeowners who have been victimized by such scams options available to recover their money. HERA offers individual counseling with HERA staff attorneys and/or housing counselors to avoid foreclosure.
